A message from David Hantman…
I have decided to close my practice in Preston Road due to COVID19. I have come to the decision to have a break until there is a vaccine and I can see patients again. I am reassured and delighted that the care of my patients has been taken over by Parker & Hammond Opticians of South Harrow and Northwood.
These are unique times and the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect our families, businesses and indeed our whole way of life. For me it has only emphasised the importance of being there for my family, friends and of course my patients many of whom have become special friends over the years. I would not just walk away. No one likes change so the continuity and quality of eye care for you the patient has been my priority.
Why Parker & Hammond?
My association with Parker and Hammond goes back many years. The late Sue Hammond was a dear friend and I know Sachin and Dipesh have carried on her work and taken it forward both professionally and clinically without losing the “family practice ethos”. It is no surprise they are a nationally award winning team. I can only look forward to this new association and I am confident that you will be well looked after.

We are privileged that David Hantman has entrusted us to take over the clinical care of all his patients. We are an award-winning independent community-based optician established since 1934 with practices in South Harrow and Northwood. At Parker & Hammond we pride ourselves in offering the highest level of eye care by investing in the latest clinical equipment and professional development for all our staff.
We hope David will join Parker & Hammond on a consulting basis when he feels comfortable to provide eyecare post COVID-19, but in the meantime our specialist team of optometrists will be here to look after you.
We have a strong clinical focus and have a wealth of experience in managing complex spectacle prescriptions, diabetic and glaucoma care, contact lenses, paediatrics, and emergency eye care. We are pleased to have taken on your patient records, so rest assured we have all your clinical information to continue your care in a seamless manner.
Under the current climate of COVID-19, providing the highest quality of eyecare in a safe environment for our staff and patients is our greatest priority. We have made detailed plans including the strict cleaning and disinfection of all touch points, provision of PPE, protective screens, and special UVC sterilising equipment.
You will find more information about our practice and services on this website. Both our South Harrow and Northwood practices are approximately 20 minutes from Preston Road by either public transport or car.
